On January 17, 2017, the Article 29 Working Group adopted its Action Plan 2017 published. According to this, the working group would like to realize the following in 2017:
- Finalize guidance documents and certification mechanisms started in 2016 regarding risk handling, administrative sanctions, and data protection impact assessment; introduce a European Data Protection Board; implement the One-stop-shop;
- Create guidance documents regarding consent, profiling, and transparency;
- Update its guidance on data transfers to third countries and data breach notifications.
On May 18 and 19, 2017, the Working Party invites data protection authorities from non-EU countries to an exchange of views regarding the GDPR and its implementation by the Working Party.
