Evaluation tools for websitesOn behalf of the federal administration and based on various inquiries from citizens, we have analyzed the data protection aspects of evaluation tools for websites. In our view, various requirements must be met when using evaluation tools to generate access statistics for websites. In particular, users must be informed in a privacy statement which data is collected about them and to whom it is passed on (including information about the country). If the data is transferred to a country that does not have an adequate level of data protection, additional guarantees must be agreed with the provider of the evaluation tool to ensure an adequate level of protection.
