In order for the disclosure of data to sponsors to be lawful, the association must ensure in the specific case that it has the consent of the persons concerned, i.e. the association members. Without valid consent, any disclosure to sponsors is unlawful. In any case, athletes must have the possibility to prohibit such use of their data. We will contact the associations to remind them of their obligations in this regard.
