Libraries have to process personal data so that they can administratively handle book lending. Additional services, such as the provision of workstations with Internet access, also generate personal data. This document explains what libraries have to consider from a data protection perspective. It focuses on user data and personal data from workstations with Internet access. In addition, the special features of networked systems are discussed.
