Thefts and acts of vandalism in checkrooms and toilets at leisure facilities pose problems for those responsible for security, cause high costs and annoy customers. A video surveillance system is often intended to provide a remedy. However, filming in checkrooms and toilets considerably increases the risk of violating the privacy of the people concerned. For this reason, video surveillance in these areas can only be operated in compliance with strict data protection rules.
