Under the name “Pay as you dri­ve” (PAYD), more and more motor vehic­le insu­rance com­pa­nies are eva­lua­ting event-inde­pen­dent beha­vi­oral data of their cus­to­mers (such as dai­ly dri­ving beha­vi­or) in order to offer them indi­vi­dua­li­zed insu­rance poli­ci­es with risk-appro­pria­te pre­mi­ums. From a data pro­tec­tion per­spec­ti­ve, this deve­lo­p­ment ent­ails various risks.
