On the occasion of the various consultation procedures on the Federal Law on Business Identification Numbers, we pointed out the possibilities of surveillance and personality violations in connection with the use of such a number (UID) in the business-to-business area. In addition, we recommended, on the one hand, to prohibit or at least restrict its use in this area. On the other hand, the FSO should publish the UID on the Internet only with the consent of the person concerned.
