Ire­land: Face­book faces ban on data dis­clo­sure to U.S.

Accor­ding to media reports, the Irish Data Pro­tec­tion Aut­ho­ri­ty intends to Pro­hi­bit data dis­clo­sure from Ire­land to the U.S. within the Face­book group. It shall have sent the draft of a cor­re­spon­ding decis­i­on to the other Euro­pean data pro­tec­tion aut­ho­ri­ties for their comm­ents, in the pro­ce­du­re pur­su­ant to Art. 60 GDPR. If ano­ther aut­ho­ri­ty rai­ses an objec­tion within four weeks and if the Irish aut­ho­ri­ty nevert­hel­ess sticks to its decis­i­on, the EDSA has to deci­de (Art. 65 GDPR).
