The Supreme Court of the United States has decided the case of USA vs. Microsoft on the surrender of data stored in foreign countries Depreciated. The US Congress enacted the CLOUD Act at the end of March:

With this law, the dispute escalated by the U.S. government to the Supreme Court has become moot for the Supreme Court (see the report at heise.de).
