The Natio­nal Council’s Sta­te Poli­cy Com­mis­si­on (SPK‑N) has today com­mu­ni­ca­ted in a media release, that it will sup­port the revi­si­on of the FDPA – with 14:8 a moti­on by SVP, FDP and CVP fol­lo­wing – in two parts:

  1. Adjust­ments to Schengen
  2. Total revi­si­on of the FDPA

This will allow the adjust­ments to Schen­gen to be dis­cus­sed in advan­ce with a view to the imple­men­ta­ti­on peri­od. The total revi­si­on of the FDPA could then be tack­led “wit­hout time pressure”. 

It remains to be seen what delays will result.
