SBA: Cloud gui­dance; expert opi­ni­on on bank-cli­ent confidentiality

The Swiss Ban­kers Asso­cia­ti­on (SBA) today unvei­led its Cloud Gui­de, a gui­de to secu­re cloud ban­king. The gui­de con­ta­ins recom­men­da­ti­ons that can be used in the pro­cu­re­ment and use of cloud ser­vices by Swiss banks and secu­ri­ties dealers.

In this con­text, the SBA has been infor­med by Wal­der Wyss and from Laux Lawy­ers each obtai­ned an expert opi­ni­on on bank-cli­ent con­fi­den­tia­li­ty. Both law firms came to the con­clu­si­on that banks are allo­wed to use cloud ser­vices, inclu­ding clouds abroad.
