Trans­at­lan­tic data trans­fers: stan­dard con­trac­tu­al clau­ses to come befo­re the ECJ

On May 25, 2016, Max Schrems announ­ced in a Press releasethat the Irish Data Pro­tec­tion Aut­ho­ri­ty (DPC) would have the EU stan­dard con­trac­tu­al clau­ses asses­sed by the ECJ as a lawful basis for trans­at­lan­tic data exch­an­ge. This was announ­ced the same day in a Opi­ni­on of the DPC confirmed.
