DETEC: Overview of regulatory approaches for AI until the end of 2024

The Federal Council approved on November 22, 2023 communicatedthat he wants to “harness the potential of artificial intelligence (AI)”, but not without “minimizing the risks for society at the same time.”

It has therefore entrusted DETEC with the exciting task of developing a new, more efficient and more effective Plateforme Tripartitethe federal competence network KI (CNAI) and the Federal Administration AI working group (which was actually dissolved) to draw up an overview of possible regulatory approaches. This should enable the Federal Council to issue a mandate for a regulatory proposal in 2025.

Although the analysis is to be based on Swiss law, it is intended to find regulatory approaches that are compatible with the AI Act and the AI Convention of the Council of Europe are compatible.
